Celebrate National Library Week at Vail Public Library

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL – This week, the Vail Public Library joins libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.

The Vail Public Library serves Vail by providing a variety of materials in print, non-print and electronic format. The library offers children’s programming for all ages (babies to teens) and recently launched Evenings of Engagement (programs for adults and families, including book talks and signings, music events and film showings).

“Service to the community has always been the focus of the library,” said Lori Barnes, town librarian. “While this aspect has never changed, libraries have grown and evolved in how they provide for the needs of every member of their community.”

The Vail Public Library is celebrating National Library Week by reminding the community that library cards are available for anybody in the valley and the application process is quite simple.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April.
