Celebrate the Beaujolais in Beaver Creek
VAIL, Colorado – To celebrate the arrival of this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau, the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is presenting a holiday hors d’oeuvres demonstration on Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill. The cost is $10 and includes samplings of the hors d’oeuvres and this season’s Beaujolais Nouveau. Guests are invited to watch and sample as 8100’s Chef de Cuisine Pascal Coudouy demonstrates how to prepare easy and elegant holiday appetizers that can be completed before guests arrive, keeping holiday entertaining stress free. Approximately five different recipes will be demonstrated, ranging from stuffed crepes to goat cheese and potato cakes. The evening coincides with the arrival of this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau. On the third Thursday of each November, more than a million cases of Beaujolais Nouveau begin their journey through France to Paris for immediate shipment to all parts of the world. By the time it is over, more than 65 million bottles, nearly half of the region’s total annual production, will be distributed and consumed around the world. “The Beaujolais Nouveau celebration has a long tradition in France,” said Greg Monjure, 8100’s general manager. “By French law, Beaujolais Nouveau cannot be released earlier than the third Thursday of November. At 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill, we like to pay homage to Chef Coudouy’s French roots and put our own twist on this time-honored celebration.” Following the demonstrations, guests can enjoy the farm-to-table menu at 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill, receiving 25 percent off their bill. Additionally, diners who spend $100 will receive a $25 gift card to 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill for their next visit.
