Celebrate the fall season in Eagle, Gypsum this weekend

EAGLE — It is officially fall and this weekend, there are events in the downvalley communities of Eagle and Gypsum to celebrate the season.

Oktoberfest

Gypsum goes German this Saturday for the community’s annual Oktoberfest celebration.



Presented by the Gypsum Chamber, the event is from noon to 6 p.m. at the Lundgren Theater Park. There will be live music, games and traditional German food vendors. Bonfire Brewing will pour its Gyptoberfest brew.

As part of the festivities, Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District is presenting the Oktoberfest 5K and half marathon races. The events are part of the WECMRD race series and will begin at 8 a.m. from the Gypsum Recreation Center. For more information or to register, visit http://www.wecmrd.org.

Fall Fair

Centro Cristiano Vida Nueva is hosting Fall Fair Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Eagle River Center at the Eagle County Fairgrounds.

The family-friendly event will include lots of free activities including a “Price is Right” game, bounce castles, face painting, pinatas, popcorn and cotton candy. There also will be vendors on site selling food and beverages.
