Celebrating the Class of 2015

Stuart McDonald

Stuart McDonald

School: Vail Christian High School

Favorite school moment from any year: Going to nationals in Disneyland with Academic Decathlon this year. The team bonding was so awesome – we completely ignored the grade/ age boundaries and really became close to each other. And did I mention we went to Disneyland?

Summer plans: I was supposed to go to Nepal for three weeks in early June, but that’s not looking too good. However, my best friend, Larkin Smith, and I are going to do Improv Olympics in Chicago this summer.

Where you’re headed this fall: The University of Chicago with my best friend. I got off of the waitlist by sending them a rap to Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda.

If you’re leaving Eagle County, what will you miss most: Being on a first name basis with the awesome baristas at Starbucks.

In 10 years you’ll be: Hopefully doing research in Quantum Mechanics. Mrs. Whitley thinks I will be working at 7-11, because apparently majoring in Physics UChicago causes insanity… I’m excited.

Favorite class you took: AP Calculus BC with Mr. Bruce. He is the smartest, most hilarious Math teacher ever. He wears a shirt that says, “I’ll try being nicer, if you’ll try being smarter.” And that’s how I passed his class. Thanks Mr. Bruce!!!

Class you wish had been offered: I wish I had the opportunity to take the AP Studio Art class.

Aimée Brandt

School: Battle Mountain High School

Favorite school moment from any year: I was in the school musical Anything Goes this year and on the last night everyone stood around in a circle and held hands and talked about how much the cast meant to them and how much those who weren’t graduating were going to miss all the seniors. We all cried so hard but it was the most amazing thing to feel all the love and happiness in the theater in that moment.

Summer plans: My best friend Allie and I are headed to the Netherlands for 3 weeks with my mom and my sister. Then just the two of us are going to Istanbul for 5 days which is going to be an amazing experience. After that, I’m just going to work hard so I can earn some money for college next year.

Where you’re headed this fall: University of Colorado Boulder

If you’re leaving Eagle County, what you will miss most: My little sister. She’s my partner-in-crime in every situation and I can’t imagine how life will be without her only one bedroom door down.

In 10 years you’ll be: Happy hopefully.
