VAIL — Two Celtic harpists and multi-instrumentalists, Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter, will perform at the Vail Public Library on Wednesday using rare instruments and story telling. The show starts at 5:30 p.m.
The San Francisco-based musicians play two Celtic harps, the Swedish nyckelharpa and Ukrainian bandura, in addition to an assortment of instruments from the mandolin, cittern and bouzouki family. The audience will hear traditional instrumental music from Sweden and Ireland, as well as original compositions blended with stories of humor and adventure.
Lynne and Frankfurter share a background as progressive rock musicians who later discovered a love for folk and world music on acoustic instruments. They are veteran street performers who now tour extensively, playing performing art centers and venues around the United States, both as a duo and in collaboration with some of the biggest names in folk and world music.
Lynne is widely acclaimed for composing melodies on the Windham Hill and Sony music labels that have repeatedly placed in the top 10 and top 20 on the Billboard New Age music charts.
Frankfurter has 17 albums to his credit, works on film and television scores as a composer and arranger, and his critically acclaimed albums have earned him high regard as an artist of extraordinary talents and abilities.
