VAIL – The Vail Valley Chamber and Tourism Bureau has hired Jim Steinbach as the new vice president of conference sales. Steinbach replaces Lori Rippstein, who served as director of group sales until June, 2004. “We are extremely privileged to have Jim join the VVCTB,” said Frank Johnson, president of the chamber and tourism bureau. “His experience and knowledge of the meetings industry will make him a great leader to our sales team, particularly as we prepare for the opening of the Vail conference facility.”Steinbach had been director of sales and marketing at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa since 1988. There, he managed group and leisure sales as well as public relations functions. Steinbach’s experience at the Hyatt extends over 20 years at properties around the country, including the Hyatt Regency New Orleans and the Hyatt Lake Tahoe.
