Chamber music comes to Vail Mountain School

VAIL, Colorado – Piano and strings will be celebrated Tuesday night at Vail Mountain School in Vail, Colorado.
Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival’s Chamber Music Series continues Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the East Vail private school with a concert called ” A Celebration of Piano and Strings.”

Music by C.P.E. Bach, Beethoven and Shostakovich will be performed.
“This is an unusual opportunity to hear two chamber gems in one evening,” said Lynne Mazza, Bravo’s associate artistic director. “Everyone will enjoy these beautiful works in an intimate setting.”
Mazza also said chamber musicians who are new to the music festival will perform. In addition to Sophie Shao and Artistic Director Eugenia Zukerman, violinist Stefan Jackiw and pianist Max Levinson will performed. Jackiw has performed with many of the major orchestras including the Boston Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic.
A Performance Prelude will take place at 5:00 p.m., prior to the concert. Artistic Director Eugenia Zukerman will be the guest speaker, providing an intimate perspective to the evening’s composers and repertoire.
Bravo’s Chamber Music Series continues through Aug. 4 with performances at the Vail Mountain School, Minturn and Gypsum. There are also free Casual Classics performances throughout the valley.
