Diners seeking a moderately priced, family-friendly Mexican restaurant should look no further than Chili Willy’s in Minturn.
The cozy room is comfortable and bustling.
From the beginning, it’s clear Chili Willy’s is a cut above. A basket of chips with obviously fresh salsa whets the appetite.
Those looking for a bigger start should try the chorizo cheese dip. Packed with Mexi-style ingredients, it arrives broiled and oozing flavor.
Chef Jason Sweeny has his favorites. Among them are the beef fajitas, carnitas (pork), the crispy beef tacos and fish tacos. But the signature item remains the beef fajitas, served with homemade pinto beans, grilled onions and all the traditional fixings.

The menu includes vegetarian selections. For the “near-vegetarian” there are two types of fish tacos. The fried fish tacos have a delicious, mild batter, while the blackened fish offers a slightly spicier version of the dish. Both are worth a try.
