EDWARDS – Noted choreographer Sergio Mejia is in town Thursday. He’ll lead a musical theater master dance class at Battle Mountain High School in Edwards at 10 a.m. The two-hour intensive workshop, which is limited to 30 students, will teach attendees of all abilities better audition techniques. One hundred percent of all net profits will benefit the non-profit Action for Children.
Mejia worked with a wide variety of entertainers, including country singer Leann Rimes. He also has worked with Disney, Nickelodeon, CBS, MTV, VH-1, NCAA, Clear Channel and Celebrity Cruises. He is developing projects for DreamWorks and Universal Studios, Japan.
The producers of this event, Slippery Slope Productions LLC, have been a singing telegram/children’s entertainment company in the valley for the last five years, and have appeared at the annual Free Family Fun Fairs.
“As a company, we’re venturing out in new directions,” says Robert Wagner, owner of Slippery Slope Productions. “We want to add innovative educational experiences to the performance community that will assist them in some of their future goals.
