It’s been Christmas in August for a couple of charities in town.Red Sky Ladies golf team won the valley championship this summer their very first year in the competition. The tournament was held at several clubs around the valley with five different teams involved.

After raking in $1,000 in prize money, the winning team generously handed over their winnings to the Resource Center of Eagle County. The Resource Center aids women and children in the valley. The Resource Center also founded the safe house for women in Eagle County who are victims of domestic violence.

The same week, Kathy Rohlwing of Kitchen Collage in Edwards, gave a check to the Vail Valley Medical Center Volunteer Corps for $1,200.00. Kitchen Collage donated 10 percent of its sales from July 3. Andy Searls, president of the Volunteer Corps, said the money would be directed toward patient care.Vail Colorado
