Christmas tree permits available in Minturn

MINTURN ” Christmas tree cutting permits will be available starting Nov. 25 from the Eagle and Holy Cross Ranger Districts on the White River National Forest.

Permits can be purchased at 24747 US Highway 24 in Minturn, or at 125 W. 5th Street in Eagle.

Permits can be purchased Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.



The Holy Cross office will also be open from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on

Saturday Dec. 10, and Dec. 17.



Permits cost $10 per tree with a maximum of five trees per individual.

Trees must be less than 15 feet tall and 6 inches or less in stump diameter. Trees are for personal use only and cannot be resold.

Christmas tree cutting is allowed in most areas on the forest with the



following exceptions: wilderness areas, commercial timber sales,

recreation and ski areas, administrative areas, Glenwood Canyon, No Name area near Camp Hale and areas adjacent to main roads.
