Christy Sports opens West Vail bike shop in former Sports Authority space
VAIL — Colorado-based Christy Sports has opened a full-service bike shop in West Vail. The store provides complete bicycle retail, rental and repair services, as well as a full range of clothing, helmets and accessories.
Christy Sports took over the 15,000-square-foot space last fall from Sports Authority. The store is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide the local Vail community with the experience and selection of a full-service bike shop,” said Jeff Evans, Vail Valley regional manager for Christy Sports. “I’m proud to say that we can provide our customers the highest range of rental and retail bikes available from Vail Pass all the way to Eagle.”
Rental bikes for kids and adults are available for hourly, half-day, full-day, 24-hour and multi-day rates. The bikes can be picked up and dropped off at the store or delivered at no additional charge. Trailers, tag-a-longs and helmets are also available.
The shop also features a full-service repair shop and offers 24-hour turnaround on basic tuning services.
This summer, the Vail Village Christy Sports store will offer rental bikes with slopeside access. The Avon Christy Sports will be a patio furniture showroom. After the summer season, all three stores will resume operations as specialty ski and snowboard shops.
