Andrew Claymon

EDWARDS, Colorado – A memorial gathering for Andrew Claymon, the Edwards teen who passed away earlier this month, will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Battle Mountain High School gymnasium.

Claymon, 16, of Edwards, died July 5 after an 18-month fight against chordoma, a very rare form of cancer.

There will be a memory book at the gathering for people to express their thoughts and feelings. Attendees may bring a photo or something written in advance to insert into the book.

In honor of Andrew and his love for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the family has suggested that everyone attending the memorial gathering wear red.

Red T-shirts that read “Always Pursue” – Andrew’s motto – will be sold for $10 each from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Ptarmigan Sports in Edwards and Fly Fishing Outfitters in Avon (next to Agave). They also may be available at the memorial gathering.
