EDWARDS, Colorado ” Colorado Mountain College’s Vail-Eagle Valley Campus is celebrating autumn and honoring their scholarship donors and students at the third annual H.E.R.O. (Higher Education Resources Opportunity) Harvest Festival on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event will be on campus, which is located at 150 Miller Ranch Road, in Edwards, CO.

Each year, many donors donate to the H.E.R.O. Scholarship, which gives scholarships to both local high school graduates and adult learners.

“This event celebrates our donors and it is at this event that we install new pavers. They are used as a way to reward donors by allowing them to inscribe a brick in our paver garden,” said Robyn Jeep, CMC’s student activities and marketing coordinator.

The H.E.R.O. Harvest Festival is a community-wide free event that celebrates donor giving with activities, music by Bert Fonte and food for the whole family.

Everyone is invited to attend the Festival, which will include an all-ages costume parade that everyone is invited to participate in.

Other activities include pumpkin decorating, face painting and several other Halloween and harvest-themed crafts for the kids. Students in the CMC Culinary Arts Program will be making two kinds of chili, including a vegetarian option, and hot dogs and warm beverages will be served. The evening will end with a bonfire and s’more roasting.

The highlight of the cuisine provided includes pies from the annual pie contest. Anyone can participate in the contest. If you would like to enter your delicious pie in the contest or for more information on the event, contact Robyn Jeep at 970-569-2911 or e-mail her at rjeep@coloradomtn.edu no later than end of day Wednesday.
