CMC offers workshops for smaller businesses

EDWARDS – The Small Business Development Center at Colorado Mountain College will conduct two September workshops designed to assist small business owners with bookkeeping and financial issues. Co-sponsors AXA Advisors and Headwards Enterprises will present “Basics of Business Bookkeeping” on Sept. 21 at the CMC campus at 150 Miller Ranch Road in Edwards from 9 a.m. to noon. This three-hour program is designed to provide the business owner with information on different accounting systems, recording transactions, depreciation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. This class will also be offered at the Breckenridge campus on Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon.”Understanding Your Financial Statements” will be offered on Sept. 28 at the Edwards campus from 9 a.m. to noon. This workshop will review various financial statements in detail in an effort to help business owners better understand balance sheets, cash flow, profit and loss, budgeting, forecasting and more.The fee for each course is $25 and reservations are requested.
