Cocktails and Canvas held on Thursday

VAIL — The Vail Recreation District Community Programming and the Vail Public Library will host Cocktails and Canvas from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lauren Merrill, of Alpine Arts Center in Edwards, will guide participants through a demonstration on bottle painting that will allow them to leave with their own unique masterpiece.
Participants are asked to bring their own wine bottle that has the label removed and is ready for painting. All paints and other materials will be provided at a cost of $15; instruction is underwritten by the Vail Public Library.
This special event is open to ages 18 and older. A cash bar will be available for those 21 years of age and older. Space is limited and reservations are highly recommended.
A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN

Merrill says the best part of this class is that participants can create artwork all in one evening and it’s always a fun night out on the town.
“Painting wine bottles is a twist on our popular Cocktails and Canvas class and a great way to spend a social night out,” Merrill said. “Even if you’ve never painted before, the class is step-by-step so you can follow along, or feel free to bring in your own design and try something on your own.”
Community Programming, which is operated by the Vail Recreation District, is located on the second floor of the Lionshead Welcome Center, adjacent to the Lionshead parking structure. It is on the town’s free in-town bus route.
