College student looking for mission support

Michelle Hiland
Avon, CO, Colorado

I am a junior at the University of Colorado at Boulder, double-majoring in integrated physiology and business management, and plan to continue my career by attending physical-therapy school after graduation.

However, the biggest blessing has been being a part of a college ministry. This non-denominational group based out of the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder is known as The Annex. To further help my career and pursue my passion for helping others, I am volunteering and going on a mission trip this winter. This year, I am going to Dublin, Ireland, from Dec. 27 to Jan. 8. I will be going with a team of about 30 college-age people. We will be working with Young Life International, which is committed to creating relationships with kids and teenagers by meeting them on their own turf in the interest of friendship. As the leaders get to know the teenagers, they are able to share the love of Jesus Christ though Young Life club and trips to camp.

We will be participating in various community outreach services, such as house repair, yard work, construction and helping to start Young Life in the area.

I am writing this letter because you have the opportunity to support me by making a tax-deductible donation. The trip costs $2,200, and I would greatly appreciate any amount you feel led to give. I am trying to raise the money by Dec. 21, but any time after is also OK. If you choose, you can make out any checks to “First Presbyterian Church” or FPC with “Ireland trip” in the memo line. You can send it to me at:
