College to hold voter registration drive

Daily Staff Report
Vail, CO Colorado

EDWARDS ” Because voters only have until Dec. 5 to register for February’s party presidential caucuses, Colorado Mountain College will hold a voter registration drive from Nov. 26 to 29 at its Edwards campus.

Officials will accept voter registrations from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day at the community college building at 150 Miller Ranch Road in Edwards. The caucus is Feb. 5.

A party caucus is a meeting of the local members of a political party to select candidates and delegates to conventions.

Caucuses and primaries taking place over the next few months across the nation determine which candidates will compete in the presidential election.

After the caucus, but before the national conventions, however, there are other gatherings ” county assemblies, and congressional district and state conventions. In Eagle County, the Democratic assembly is scheduled Feb. 25 at 6 p.m., with the Republican assembly on March 1 at 4 p.m.

Assemblies take place in the Eagle County Room of the county building at 500 Broadway, in Eagle.

For more information about voter registration, contact Peggy Curry at 569-2908.
