Colo. may get $66 milllion for ‘green’ schools

DENVER, Colorado ” Colorado would get $66 million from a federal proposal to “green” schools by using renewable energy and making buildings more energy efficient.

Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette says the House voted 275-155 Thursday for the $6 billion measure, which now goes to the Senate.

Supporters of the 21st Century Green High-Performing Public School Facilities Act say energy-efficient schools powered by renewable energy emit less carbon dioxide and use less water and energy than other schools.
