Colo. real estate director seeks return to post

DENVER – Colorado Division of Real Estate Director Erin Toll has filed a whistle-blower complaint seeking to return to her job.

Division employees learned last week that Toll was placed on leave, but Toll and state officials didn’t say why. It happened after she told a reporter of an investigation into Republican Sen. Ted Harvey’s employer, American Home Funding. Some lawmakers called the disclosure an abuse of power.

In her complaint filed Thursday, Toll says Department of Regulatory Agencies Executive Director Barbara Kelley ended the investigation into Harvey’s employer, despite Toll’s objections, and placed Toll on leave against her will.

Department spokesman Chris Lines didn’t return calls from The Denver Post for comment.
