Colo. students can win laptop, trip to Democratic convention
DENVER, Colorado ” Two Colorado students will get a chance to attend the Democratic National Convention by entering an essay contest announced Thursday.
The Democratic National Convention Committee invites students to write a 300- to 500-word essay on two questions, based on their grade levels. The contest, called “Write to Lead,” is open to students from the sixth through 11th grades.
One middle school student and one high school student will be chosen as Presidential Winners and will be invited to attend the convention. They will also be awarded laptops.
Names of the finalists and their hometowns will be published in full-page ads in either the Rocky Mountain News or Denver Post in May. For more information about submitting essays go to http://www.demconvention.com. The deadline is April 18.
