Colorado congressman angrily rebuffs ethical charges
Denver, CO Colorado
DENVER, Colorado ” Colorado congressman Mike Coffman is angrily defending himself against allegations he acted unethically two years ago while overseeing elections as secretary of state.
The Republican told an ethics commission Friday that he’s been attacked for partisan reasons.
Coffman was secretary of state for two years before his election to Congress last fall. He told the newly created Colorado Independent Ethics Commission that the complaints against him are only to smear his reputation.
Coffman calls the probe “a two-year jihad.”
It’s not clear when the commission will decide Coffman’s case, or what penalties the congressman may face.
