AVON — Jonathan Kohl from Boulder-based The Natural Wine Company will pour natural wines today as part of vin48’s Summer Tasting series.

The Natural Wine Company is Colorado’s leading distributor of fine wine made naturally. The company believes in promoting quality-minded producers, not already well served in the market, at affordable prices. As Colorado chefs lead the national charge toward local, seasonal, organic cuisine, The Natural Wine Company compliments these efforts by bringing natural wine to the table.

Focusing on natural wine provides a way for the Natural Wine Company to stand apart from the average wine distributor and the typical selection and nicely fits the market demand for healthy lifestyles so prevalent in Colorado. Grape vines farmed naturally produce wines that retain more of their natural acidity and are lower in alcohol.

Charles Hays, vin48’s chef and owner, will pair the wines with appetizers on the restaurant’s patio. The event is part of vin48’s Summer Tasting series, which takes place every Wednesday and features winemakers/importers from the world’s best wine growing region. The wines are paired with Hays’ cuisine. The event is $25, which includes wine tasting and appetizers. All wines served are available at discounted prices from series partner Beaver Liquors in Avon.
