Colorado Farm Show opens with talk of new markets

GREELEY, Colo. – Farmers are headed to Greeley for some advice on new ways to earn money off the land.

The annual Colorado Farm Show opened Tuesday in Greeley. Some 30,000 people were expected to check out new farm equipment for sale, plus hear from agriculture officials on the state of industry.

One of the topics up Tuesday was a talk about putting solar and wind facilities on rural properties. Farmers scheduled another session to talk about the credit market and the future of agricultural lending.

Colorado’s state veterinarian was also scheduled to talk to farmers for an update on health risks to Colorado livestock.
