DENVER – Colorado is getting $26.6 million in grants from the Department of Homeland Security to dole out to agencies across the state.
Gov. Bill Ritter’s office says more than 80 percent of the funds will go to county and local agencies to support emergency responders and improve disaster preparedness.
Ritter’s Office of Homeland Security will use formulas and a competitive scoring process to judge applications from agencies that will be submitted to the federal government by April 19.
