Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday; local nonprofits participating
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – The second annual Colorado Gives Day takes place on today.
Last year, the single biggest day of giving in Colorado inspired the generosity of thousands who donated $8.7 million online to 529 of their favorite local charities. Colorado Gives Day is a project of GivingFirst.org, an online resource created by Community First Foundation that profiles Colorado nonprofits and encourages charitable giving by providing comprehensive, objective, and up-to-date information about hundreds of Colorado organizations. In order to be eligible to participate, each organization had to submit a detailed profile for approval that includes mission, governance, programmatic, and financial information that is now posted atGivingFirst.org.
Every single dollar donated to the following organizations on Colorado Gives Day, from midnight to midnight, is eligible for a boost from the FirstBank Incentive Fund, increasing the value of each contribution: Can-Do Multiple Sclerosis, Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum and Hall of Fame, Eagle Valley Land Trust, Eagle River Watershed Council, Round-Up River Ranch, SOS Outreach, Vail Valley Charitable Fund, Vail Valley Salvation Army, Walking Mountains Science Center and the Vail Valley Foundation.
In addition, at least once per hour, a donor will randomly be selected, and the nonprofit of their choice will receive $1,000 in “bonus bucks.” At the end of the 24-hour period, nonprofits who have the most donors, most dollars raised, and largest increase in dollars raised will also receive a “high five,” an additional $5,000 from GivingFirst.org.
