Colorado GOP unveils 2010 election agenda
DENVER – Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis and GOP lawmakers say they’re uniting behind a conservative agenda as they try to unseat Democratic Gov. Bill Ritter.
They unveiled their “Platform for Prosperity” on Monday. It was drafted with the help of former congressman Tom Tancredo, who said he supports McInnis for governor. That ended speculation that Tancredo would seek the GOP nomination himself.
The platform calls for requiring companies to check the immigration status of their workers, protecting the state’s constitutional limits on taxes and spending, loosening regulations on oil and gas development and promoting nuclear power and renewable energy.
Ritter has summarized the agenda as “just (being) against things.”
