Colorado highway crews plowing through budget
ASPEN, Colorado ” Colorado’s highway crews have been plowing through funding for snow removal in Aspen and Glenwood Springs this winter.
Nancy Shanks of the Colorado Department of Transportation says CDOT has already sought additional funding twice because of the heavy snowfall.
Shanks says the agency’s Region 3, which covers Aspen and Glenwood Springs, started the winter with about $6 million for snow removal. Shanks says an additional $1.5 million has been added to the budget since mid-January.
Shanks says she soon will be getting ready for a very busy pothole repair season.
