Colorado indicts illegal immigrants in alleged prostitution ring
DENVER, Colorado ” Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced today the Statewide Grand Jury has indicted 15 illegal immigrants on suspicion of operating an illegal enterprise, known as Mi Casa Su Casa, that promoted and engaged in prostitution and cocaine distribution at a series of brothels in Denver, Longmont and Glenwood Springs.
“This case involved prostitution in an organized crime context,” Suthers said. “Each of the 11 brothels mentioned in our indictment were blights on the community. I am glad to see my office along with our partners in local law enforcement shut down this extensive operation.”
According to the indictment, Mi Casa Su Casa, headed by Sonia Montoya-Cadena (DOB: 10/17/1954), operated brothels between Dec. 30, 2006 and April 16, 2009 at locations throughout the state. Kentucky, 3745 Pecos St., 3054 Dakota Ave., 4855 Washington St., 2727 W. 33rd Ave. and 2841 W. 24th Ave. The Longmont brothel was located at 14 Ninth Ave. The Glenwood Springs brothel was located at 52089 U.S. Highway 6.
At each location, the indictment said, the brothels would collect $40 to $50 from each patron for 15 minutes of sex. The house would split the money with the prostitutes. After the patrons paid for sex, they would receive a glass bead or other object to give the prostitutes to show they had paid.
The Office of the Attorney General partnered with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Denver Police Department, the Longmont Police Department, the Glenwood Springs Police Department, the Aurora Police Department, the Greeley Police Department, the Lakewood Police Department and the Las Vegas Police Department throughout its investigation of the prostitution ring.
