VAIL — Famed contemporary jewelry designer Todd Reed uses fresh design concepts that reinterpret mainstream jewelry. His designs are simple, yet his natural materials and matte scratch finishes set him apart. While Reed’s acclaim is nationwide, those in Colorado consider him a local, as all of Reed’s designs are handmade in his studio in Boulder.

Part of Reed’s uniqueness lies in his choice of diamonds. While most designers only focus on the use of white diamonds, Reed sees the beauty in the various shades of color in which diamonds naturally come. Thus, he has become a pioneer in the use of natural-colored diamonds in fine jewelry.

His modern and distinct designs have a broad appeal.

“Todd Reed continually surprises those who come in and see his work for this first time. People have become so used to seeing traditional jewelry that they don’t realize there are other options out there,” sales associate Gina Lovell said. “The contemporary look is in high demand.”
