DENVER, Colorado A proposal to phase out a tax on business equipment is set to get a hearing Monday at the state Capitol in Denver, Colorado.Currently, businesses must calculate the value of their equipment and pay a tax on that amount. Mark Scheffel of Parker has proposed phasing out the tax over 18 years. The Democratic president of the Senate, Peter Groff, has said he’s interested in exploring the idea. The Senate Business, Labor & Technology Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on the proposal Monday.
