Colorado lawmakers to hear budget-cutting plans
DENVER, Colorado – Gov. Bill Ritter is meeting with Colorado lawmakers to discuss the state’s budget crisis.
In a meeting Tuesday evening at the governor’s mansion, Ritter said large budget cuts are needed because of a sharp drop in state revenues.
Ritter says his administration is working with lawmakers and others to cut $400 million and will release the plan in August 24, with cuts going into effect on Sept. 1.
