Colorado lawmakers to honor Winter Olympians
WASHINGTON – All seven of Colorado’s members of Congress are getting together to honor Winter Olympians and Paralympians in a Washington reception.
At least a half-dozen athletes are expected Wednesday morning for a reception at the office of Democratic Sen. Mark Udall. Colorado is a home of the U.S. Olympic Committee and sends dozens of athletes to each Winter Olympics. Athletes who participated in the Paralympics are invited, too. It wasn’t confirmed which athletes would attend.
Gov. Bill Ritter has said Denver should bid on hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics.
