Colorado lawmakers to review campaign finance
DENVER – Colorado lawmakers are introducing their plan to fix several state laws on campaign finance because of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled businesses and unions should be allowed to directly spend unlimited amounts of money to produce and run their own ads for campaigns.
The Colorado Supreme Court says that conflicts with Colorado’s Amendment 27, which was approved by Colorado voters in 2002 to ban such contributions.
The measure is being introduced next week in the Colorado House.
