Colorado man indicted for stolen machine guns, officials say
DENVER – Officials say a Littleton man has been indicted for possession of stolen machine guns and explosives.
The U.S. attorney’s office for Colorado says Denver police found firearms, including a machine gun, in 21-year-old Andrew Gunzer’s vehicle during a March 17 traffic stop. Authorities say a later search turned up another machine gun and unregistered destructive devices.
Denver police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives say Gunzner stole weapons from Prairie Arms Manufacturing, his employer and a federal firearms licensee in Littleton.
Gunzner is being held on weapons and theft charges. He could face at least 10 years in prison and fines up to $510,000 if convicted.
