Colorado nonprofits huddle over economy
Denver, CO Colorado
DENVER, Colorado ” Colorado charities are hurting as much as any business in the deepening recession, and they’re meeting Monday to talk about strategies for survival.
A group of nonprofits has convened a two-day summit in Denver to talk about surviving as cash-strapped donors snap their wallets shut. To start the summit, the group is to release a survey showing how far contributions have dipped, even as the need for charity services has gone up.
The Colorado Nonprofit Association says that nonprofits represent 6 percent of Colorado’s economy. Some 250 nonprofit workers are headed to Regis University Monday to swap ideas on keeping their doors open during the recession.
