Colorado senator says Hillary should stay in race
DENVER, Colorado ” Democratic Sen. Ken Salazar says he isn’t calling on Hillary Rodham Clinton to drop out of the presidential race, unlike others in his party.
Some Democrats say Clinton should quit because of Barack Obama’s delegate lead.
But Salazar said Thursday he thinks voters in states that still have primaries should get the chance “to go through this exercise in democracy.”
Salazar says the party will then figure out how to complete the process and a nominee will be ready for the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August.
Salazar is one of several hundred superdelegates ” party and elected officials who cast their votes at the convention. He hasn’t declared support for either candidate.
