Colorado unemployment rises again
DENVER, Colorado ” Colorado’s unemployment rate has gone up again, to 6.6 percent in January.
That’s up half a percentage point from December, when the 6.1 rate set a five-year record for joblessness in Colorado.
Colorado is still better off than many states. A national unemployment figure out last week climbed to a quarter-century peak of 8.1 percent.
Some 12.5 million people across the country are searching for work ” more than the population of the entire state of Pennsylvania. Millions more have seen their hours, wages and benefits cut.
