A skier allegedly hit a week ago by a snowboarder at Snowmass filed a lawsuit Thursday in Pitkin County District Court seeking damages for the incident.

Kim Petrie, a Colorado resident, was skiing down Lower Green Cabin, a blue run near the High Alpine chairlift, on Feb. 2, when Giorgio Mosoni of Minnesota crashed into her, according to the suit.

Mosoni was snowboarding at a high rate of speed and hit Petrie from behind, “causing her to fall, suffering injuries, damages and losses …” the suit states.

Petrie’s injuries weren’t specified in the lawsuit, though some “will require surgical intervention,” it states.

The suit was filed by Russell Hatten, a Denver-based attorney.
