Colorado’s Polis cleared in fundraising complaint
DENVER, Colorado ” Colorado Democratic Rep. Jared Polis has been cleared by federal election authorities in a fundraising complaint by one of his former opponents.
Polis was accused by primary opponent Will Shafroth of failing to disclose employers and occupations of his donors in last year’s campaign. The Federal Election Commission ruled Friday that Polis’ campaign met requirements to make the “best effort” to report donors’ employment details.
Polis defeated Shaforth in a three-way primary last year and went on to win the 2nd District seat.
In March, Shafroth was named the Interior Department’s deputy assistant secretary for fish, wildlife and parks. Shafroth was a founding director of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund.
Snow usually comes and goes in this part of the state. A forecasted storm is expected to stick around for a while. Forecasters are calling for snow to persist throughout the weekend in the high country, with a prospect of a couple of feet of powder by the time the storm starts to diminish on Monday.
