DENVER – Andrew Romanoff remains far behind Sen. Michael Bennet in fundraising for the Senate despite winning the Democratic party caucus straw polls last month.
Bennet’s primary challenger has reported earning about $385,000 during the first fiscal quarter of the year. Bennet, who was appointed to the seat last year, raised $1.4 million.
On the Republican side, former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton led the fundraising contest last quarter with $816,000. Another Republican seeking the nomination, Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck, raised about $219,000, including a loan from himself of $100,000.
