Colorado’s Udall announces Senate committee appointments

DENVER, Colorado ” Newly elected U.S. Sen. Mark Udall says his appointments to the Armed Services and Energy and Natural Resources committees will help Colorado take a national lead in energy, jobs and national security issues.

The former Democratic House member announced the appointments Wednesday. Udall defeated Republican Bob Schaffer in November to replace the Senate seat being vacated by Wayne Allard.

Udall was previously in the House Armed Services Committee.



Udall also announced that Michael Sozan will be his chief of staff and Alan Salazar his senior political and policy adviser.

Sozan previously served as legislative director to Virginia U.S. Sen. Jim Webb. Salazar was chairman of Udall’s Senate campaign.
