Comcast names new GM for Vail Valley area

DENVER, Colorado – Comcast, one of the nation’s leading providers of entertainment, information and communication products and services, has appointed Dan Wherry as general manager for Colorado Mountain Communities. In this role, Wherry will oversee all of the company’s operations in mountain communities including Aspen, Avon, Breckenridge, Dillon, Glenwood Springs, Frisco, Keystone, Silverthorne, Vail and others.

“Dan’s experience, collaborative leadership style and customer-centric focus will be a great asset to our mountain customers,” said Mike Trueblood, vice president of Comcast’s Northern Colorado Area. “We are excited to have Dan at the helm as we continue to launch advanced technologies and the country’s best entertainment and communications services in many Colorado mountain communities.”

Wherry re-joins Comcast from Cox Communications where he most recently served as director of business engineering for the company’s regional office in Omaha, Neb. Prior to that role, Wherry worked as the director of operations for Cox’s Sun Valley Idaho system, where he helped increase employee engagement, improve customer satisfaction and grow the company’s customer base. Prior to joining Cox, Wherry spent seven years with Comcast in Seattle, where he worked on the engineering and technical operations team.

Wherry earned an associate degree in technology and science and a Bachelor of Science in education from Southern Illinois University. He is currently completing a master’s program at Gonzaga University. Wherry, his wife, and their children will be relocating to Eagle County and he will be based in Comcast’s Avon office.
