Comcast rolls out faster Internet in Colorado mountains today
DENVER – Comcast announced Monday it is making the leap from broadband to wideband with the launch of next-generation DOCSIS 3.0 technology in Colorado’s mountain communities. With this move, Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Granby, Rifle, Silt, Summit County and Winter Park will receive faster Internet speeds beginning today. Comcast began rolling out wideband in Colorado earlier this year.
Wideband allows Comcast to offer among the fastest speeds available today, including the Extreme 50 tier, which provides download speeds of up to 50 Mbps. It also enables Comcast to double speeds for the majority of existing high-speed Internet customers at no additional cost.
As part of the wideband deployment, Comcast will launch two new premium speed tiers for its residential and business class customers. Both tiers are among the fastest options available in Colorado and are ideal for households or businesses simultaneously using several computers or Internet-connected devices.
