The Vail Dance Festival invites the community to a free film screening of “Restless Creature: Wendy Whelan” on Monday at Vail Mountain School at 6 p.m. Featured at the New York Film Festival and now playing around the U.S., this documentary stars former principal ballerina at New York City Ballet for 30 years, Wendy Whelan. The film covers the realities of life after ballet super stardom, one that all professional athletes can relate to and must eventually face. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided before the film at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Marc Philippon and guests. The event is sponsored by the Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute.


Big snow expected to dump on Vail Valley through the weekend

Snow usually comes and goes in this part of the state. A forecasted storm is expected to stick around for a while. Forecasters are calling for snow to persist throughout the weekend in the high country, with a prospect of a couple of feet of powder by the time the storm starts to diminish on Monday.
