Comedian Bryan Kellen back at Eagle’s Back Bowl

EAGLE – When Bryan Kellen made his first appearance at the Comedy Night at the Bowlmor series back in 2007, he was excited – if not a bit anxious – about appearing before a mountain audience. With a background that brought him to some of the biggest stages in the country including New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas, he hoped the smaller venue would be a good match for his big, physical comedic style.Kellen returns, for a sixth time, to The Bowlmor Caf and Lounge in Eagle, tonight at 8 p.m. with more of his off-the-wall humor.Kellen, who is a regular at Denver’s Comedy Works, was anointed “one of the funniest up-and-coming comics in America” by the National Comedy Hall of Fame and one of the country’s “Top 100 Comedians” by Entertainment Business Journal. Kellen is also a former winner of the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and the Laugh Across America series. He has appeared on numerous TV comedy specials and, most recently, on the George Lopez late night show.Opening for Kellen will be J Marc. J Marc has opened for some of the top names in the business at Denver Comedy Works as well as some of the best clubs in the region. Now in its fourth successful season, Comedy Night at the Bowlmor works in conjunction with Comedy Works to bring the best in regional and national talent to the local stage.”This winter season is seeing some of the best attendance since we started the series four years ago,” says owner and general manager Joe Gonzalez. He attributes its popularity not only to the quality of the performers, but also to the affordability of the evening. “Compared to other entertainment options, where else can you get this caliber of professional entertainment so inexpensively and in such an intimate setting? And, everybody loves live comedy, there’s really nothing like it.”Tickets are on sale now for $15 at the door. For this month’s show, the Back Bowl is offering a “Dine & Laff” dinner special with select entrees and the comedy show for $21.95. Tickets can be purchased in person at The Back Bowl, or by phone with a credit card by calling 970-328-BOWL.
