Congratulations are in order
Vail, CO, Colorado
Our valley is filling with graduates and congratulations are certainly due. After years of hard work a milestone in your lives have been reached. You have worked hard and learned that hard work is what lets you achieve your goals. I hope you are proud of your achievement, you have earned it. Enjoy your success, but don’t let it go to your head ” literally.
Stress is a good thing most of the time. It motivates us to achieve a little more, go a little further and sometimes even surprise ourselves at what we can achieve. Who hasn’t been stressed by a final exam or big presentation that was eventually aced or pulled off with applause? At the same time, too much stress can adversely affect us, and our ability to make good decisions. Good things can be just as stressful as bad, we just do not often think of them that way.
So, in the excitement of the movement, with the stress of all the good that is to come, slow down and take a deep breath. Don’t be tempted to drink too much or party too hard. Drive safely and not too fast. Keep your good habits and get rid of your bad ones. Enjoy the rewards of the work you have done, but remember that the wealth of a person is measured not by how much you have, but by how little you need.
Be proud of yourselves because you deserve it, but don’t forget the people who helped along the way. Remember that it wasn’t easy, but few good things are. Don’t worry if you get to coast a bit, but do not take your eyes off the next hill ahead. Challenge yourselves and challenge each other to always be your best.
We all share in your success, for we are all better because of what you have done. Thank you and a heartfelt congratulations to each of you.
