SPEN – Jazz Aspen Snowmass has announced that Harry Connick Jr. and Natalie Cole are set as headliners for the 2010 June Festival.

The festival, part of Jazz Aspen’s 20th anniversary season, is scheduled June 24 through July 3 with headlining events in the Benedict Music Tent, and assorted events in other venues around Aspen.

Connick, the New Orleans pianist, singer and actor, makes his Jazz Aspen debut June 25. His latest album, “Your Songs,” released in September, features takes on tunes by The Beatles, Elton John and the Carpenters.

Cole, who was forced to cancel a scheduled Jazz Aspen appearance last summer, is set for July 3. The singer, whose 2009 album “Still Unforgettable” earned two Grammy Awards, will perform with a big band and musicians from the Aspen Music Festival and School.

Also announced is an All Star Celebration of Jazz, featuring bassist Christian McBride, Jazz Aspen’s Distinguished Artist in Residence and artistic director of Jazz Aspen’s JAS Academy Summer Sessions, and Denver-born singer Dianne Reeves. The concert, set for June 26 at the Benedict Music Tent, will feature additional guest artists and a big band.

Still to be announced is the headliner for a concert on June 27. The festival will also feature free performances on the Cooper Mall Stage, jazz concerts at the Little Nell, and collaborations with Belly Up Aspen. Tickets will go on sale in mid-February. For further information, go to
