Convenience store clerk killed in Denver shooting

DENVER, Colorado ” Denver police are looking for a man suspected of fatally shooting a convenience store clerk with a rifle.

Police say a man entered a 7-Eleven in south Denver around 3:30 a.m. Saturday and shot the clerk before driving away in a silver vehicle. Police found the clerk lying in an alley near the store. The clerk, whose name wasn’t immediately released, died at a hospital of his injuries.

7-Eleven spokeswoman Margaret Chabris says the 27-year-old clerk had worked at the store for five years and was working alone when he was shot.



Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said it was unclear how the clerk ended up outside. Police did not disclose a possible motive.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s with brown shoulder-length hair.
