BEAVER CREEK — Author Barbara Stafford will visit Karin’s in Beaver Creek Plaza for an “Eclectic Entertaining” book-signing event Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. An easy party appetizer and Valentine dessert from her cookbook will be sampled. Stafford is a Highlands Ranch resident as well as an avid Vail and Beaver Creek skier.

“Eclectic Entertaining” ( is a uniquely styled cookbook intended to resurrect the lost art of entertaining. The book contains 15 complete dinner party menus to choose from — each with appetizers, sides, salad, a main course and dessert — with a complete grocery list for each menu.

The book is organized to save the host/hostess time and energy when planning, shopping and cooking. The book becomes even easier to use when combined with your smart phone or tablet. Each chapter ends with a QR Code; easily scan and access the grocery list (organized by supermarket section) to eliminate the need for a hand-written list. If you like one or two items in the book but aren’t cooking for an entire dinner party, easily touch any individual menu item and get the grocery list for that specific dish.

Books retail for $30 and are available online at, at Karin’s and in other select retail locations.
